About Us

My wife Brandi is a realtor in San Francisco. She came home one day and told me about a home for sale that got no offers because the house had knob and tube wiring and buyers could not get a home insurance policy.  The house should have easily received at least five offers. The following week there were a couple more stories where the buyers could not get insurance. I called up a few insurance carriers and learned that there is no longer a market to cover homes with knob and tube wiring.

My name is Matthew Ticknor and recognized this was a light bulb moment!  I called the expediter who helped me on some real estate development projects to understand how to get permits quickly for knob and tube replacement jobs in San Francisco. We learned that this work required different trades to complete the work soup to nuts. It required a new electrical panel, opening walls, crawling through an attic, and drilling through joists and studs to pull new wire to connect new fixtures, switches, and receptacles, then sealing up the walls with drywall, patching, and painting.

Once we understood the scope and the city's requirements, we put our team together to provide a one-stop shop for knob and tube replacement. This includes everything from getting the permits, wiring the house, installing a new panel, new receptacles, new fixtures, and new switches, passing inspection, then patching and painting the walls.

We make this easy so you can focus on the important things!

Our experience working with the San Francisco Building Department will enable us to source permits quickly and get your knob and tube electrical replaced quickly.
